ANZ Territory Field Sales Engineer (FSE)

The role of the Field Sales Engineer is to drive revenue and shorten the sales cycle by overcoming technical hurdles and providing technical sales leadership during the pre-sales phase of an opportunity. The position requires the ability to execute product demonstrations, architect and implement test pilots, whiteboard proposed solutions and explain the integration impact of Wavelink products to an existing environment. The Field Sales Engineer will also engage in actively recruiting partners by enthusiastically explaining the qualities and business benefits of the Wavelink product line. Also included within this role is the face of the post-sales support for the US team. You will take all first line calls from end users and manage this through the US 2nd & 3rd Line support teams. You will also take partner issues and manage these in the same way. Some level of chargeable project services will be included in the role along with some chargeable training services. Strong problem solving and analytical abilities are required for the position. Strong written and verbal communication skills are also essential. Understanding of complete sale’s process is absolutely essential to this position.
The ANZ Territory Sales Engineer will be a self-starter and have a broad set of responsibilities ranging from managing simultaneous test pilots to crafting and presenting high-level, complex technical solutions based on the Wavelink product line. The FSE will report to the ANZ Territory Manager and work closely with the territory sales team to help identify partner and revenue opportunities that align with the business goals of the client. The FSE will exercise independent judgment in developing methods, and techniques for increasing Wavelink’s revenue and Wavelink’s presence in the ANZ sales territory.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
• Minimum 5 years experience supporting incremental revenue sales in auto-id and/or handheld scanner or mobile device applications. These include auto-id hardware, smartphone/PDAs, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Network management systems, RFID, etc
• The FSE will be responsible for creating the content and delivery of solution demonstrations/presentations in briefings and demand generation events.
• Serve as a QA resource and/or project lead for test pilots implemented by partner resources.
• Effectively present the technical benefits of the Wavelink’s Product Suite and show how these translate into business value to the customer.
• In coordinated efforts with the account managers, actively participates in account and opportunity planning.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact with the client or partner during the pre-sales phase.
• Act as a technical expert on all the components of the Wavelink Product Suite.
• Active participation in business development activities, these include but not limited to identifying new business alliance candidates, such as device manufacturers, systems integrators, independent software vendors or channel partners, as well as help develop existing ones through formal coaching and mentoring activities.
• Administrative responsibility by providing timely status reports to managers, effective use of CRM tools, and consistent and timely delivery of Status and Expense reports.
• Keep abreast of new competitive products or service offerings and be able to move quickly to neutralize potential impact on Wavelink sales objectives.
• Provide pre-sales technical and architectural support for enterprise customers.
• Provide post-sales technical and architectural support for enterprise customers
• Provide post-sales technical and architectural support for key partners
• Travel Requirements of between 25% to 50% expected.
• High usage of remote desktop sessions and conference calls required to cover different markets to minimize travel costs.
• Beneficial would be some programming language skill or even database reporting skills
Education
• Minimum BS in I/T or technology systems, (i.e. Computer Science, Info Systems, etc) or equivalent experience.

The FSE will exercise independent judgment in developing methods, and techniques for increasing Wavelink’s revenue and Wavelink’s presence in the Central Europe (DACH & Benelux) sale’s territory.
